The Neurodiversity Umbrella Project has been close to our hearts since we first got involved in 2023.

Why are there so many umbrellas on display at our HQ?!
First launched by the ADHD foundation, a charity which inspired us to launch Celebrate Difference itself, our Neurodiversity Umbrella Project runs every year for 9 months.
In January, after we have taken our Christmas decorations down, we invite businesses to sponsor an umbrella, which are normally put up with great fanfare in February before Neurodiversity Awareness week in March.
But why the umbrellas?!
Well, firstly they catch everyone’s attention and provoke questions.
We can then start the conversations about Neurodivergence; that so many of us have brains that work differently and that there is a spectrum that we all fall into as human beings.
That humanity is diverse, and so much better for it, but, for those of us that sit outside the perceived societal “norms,” we also have a place too.
That our strengths and challenges can be respected and understood because of the power of conversation and education.
Celebrate Difference as an organisation wears its values on its sleeve: Equity for All, whether its in education, work or life at home, we all deserve to be ourselves and contribute to the world we live in.
