I’m an anthropologist, editor, and writer, with a background in IT quality management. I help small businesses, academics, and independent authors ensure that their writing is correct, readable, and
memorable for all the right reasons. Another way to put it is that I collect stories and help other people tell theirs as effectively as possible. I’ve been living in County Durham, with my partner and (now) five cats, since coming up here as a postgraduate. It’s so lovely up here that we never escaped. I’m a huge bookworm, love cooking, and recently started gardening. Until recently, my partner and I were fostering and socialising feral kittens . . . which is how we ended up with five permanent feline residents! In my spare time, I research and write about sea glass and the meaning it has for different people. Luckily, that also means I get to spend a lot of time exploring the gorgeous North East coastline.
Calico Cultural provides editing and writing support services. I help small businesses, academics, and independent authors ensure their writing is correct, readable, and memorable. This includes but is not
limited to copyediting, proofreading, and reviewing writing for language, style, tone, and sense (along with editorial suggestions).
